smoke gets in your eyes

well, for the second time since i've moved to cali, the sun has turned red. the first time was due a forest fire in santa barbara county. now, it's malibu. it's a bit closer to home this time. malibu is just down the coast from oxnard. i believe there was another fire burning somewhere near moorpark, because there was definitely smoke and ash coming from both directions. the sky was pretty dark today. and the wind wasn't helping either. the news says the santa ana winds were reaching 65 mph today, and will continue to blow this week. last night and this morning were awful, although the wind has died down here in oxnard. to illustrate how bad the wind was, at church today there were two trees in the parking lot that had been blown over and plus a pine tree acoss the street. not to mention palm fronds everywhere. i was glad i didn't park my car by a tree... anyway, i had accidentally left my window open in my bedroom during church, and by the time i got home, there was a layer of ash all over everything in my room. i'm far enough away from malibu that i shouldn't see any flames, unless things get really bad. i must admit that seeing the sun that color is a little wierd and creepy. hopefully there aren't too many multi-million dollar homes damaged in malibu. i mean, what will all the celebrities do?
