York Fielding Jones
1925-2008
I will miss my Grandpa Jones. I'm so grateful for everything he gave to me. The memories I have with him are great and I will think of them often. I'm sorry I didn't get to visit more often. But it always meant so much to me that he was there when I left for my mission. He took me fishing and hunting, neither of which am I any good at. He showed me how he made rocking chairs and blue ribbon winning wooden bowls. He was there to help when I fell off the haystack and twisted my ankle. I always loved the tree house and swing out front. I remember helping (or being no help) to rake the leaves from his lawn and pick apples from his tree. The trips to the cabins he built were always a treat. Riding horses through Bryce canyon, picnics in Zion, and strapping Christmas trees to the top of the big blue van are unforgettable things. His example of strength, spirituality, and joy of life will always stay with me. I look forward to seeing him again one day.
