Accepting What Must Be

I think I’ve decided that I’m going to stay in Farmington for awhile. That means that I will most likely become a permanent employee at the mine. Took me long enough to decide, I know. I still want to go to grad school, but that won’t be until next fall. So I think instead of trying to find a new job, I’m going to stick with what I’ve got and make the best out of it. That means I’m stuck in Farmington where there is nothing to do and I have allergies all the time. But it also means that I’d get a raise and benefits. I can go to the doctor, and I can get my teeth cleaned. I hope that it’s the right decision. I feel ok about it. At least I don’t get all stressed out or nervous or worried when I think about staying. I just have to swallow a bit of my pride and accept the fact that Farmington isn’t really that bad after all. And someday I’ll be able to move away to somewhere where plants actually grow naturally and there’s not so much dust in the air.
