In May of 2014, I went on a SVOSH mission trip to Fiji. It was awesome! I'll try to make another post with pictures from that, cause there are a lot of pictures.
I spent the summer of 2014 in New Mexico with my parents, and then came back to California in the Fall for 2nd year of optometry school. School got much more intense, and required a lot of study time to get through all of the exams and proficiencies, but I made it through 2nd year. 3rd year started in May 2015, and I started seeing actual real patients in the clinic. I was so nervous for that! But here I am, in the beginning of winter quarter 3rd year, with just about 6 months left before I go out on rotations. So crazy! In March, I will be taking Part 1 of the national boards exam. It's hard to believe I've come this far, and yet still have so much to go. I feel like I am sooo ready to be done with school, but at the same time, I am sooo not ready to be a doctor. It will happen eventually though.
Speaking of rotations, I will be going to:
- IHS hospital in Crownpoint, NM (Summer 2016)
- VA hospital in Salt Lake City, UT (Fall 2016)
- Private practice in Cedar City, UT (Winter 2016/2017)
- And back to Ketchum Health (my school's clinic) in Anaheim, CA (Spring 2017)
Assuming all goes well between now and then, I will be graduating in May of 2017! So, if you would like to take a trip to CA and go to Disneyland with me then, you can start planning now.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I will be flying out to Minnesota to visit my sister and see my adorable niece get baptized. I have never been to Minnesota before. It should be pretty interesting. And I am excited to see everyone!
C'est tout en ce moment. Je vous aime!
