well, i meant to get my christmas letter on here, but i'm having trouble with that. so i figure i'll just say a late merry christmas, happy holidays and happy new year to everyone!
it's been a little interesting this year, as i'm the only one home with my parents. everyone else decided to stay at their homes or go see the in-laws. so, there were only three and we didn't do all of the usual christmas traditions. normally, we have fondue on christmas eve, but we decided to save that for when jason and his family come back into town. but we did sing a few carols by the christmas tree, and drove around looking at lights. it's always very impressive to see the enthusiasm with which people decorate around here. we actually had tacos for our christmas eve dinner, and it was great eating green chiles! yes, we slept in to about 9:00 christmas morning, since there were no kids around.
i got a few games for my playstation, some books, dvd's, nice smelly stuff, and a penguiun that dances to my ipod. i found it a little funny, as my mom gave my dad a playstation and my dad gave my mom an ipod. neither one of them know how to use either one of the gifts! so, i'm showing them how.
it's been good to be able to relax and not think about work at all! however, cars are a different story. i've decided i'm going to buy a new one, and was very close to buying one while i'm here in new mexico, so i can have my dad help with negotiating the price and all that. then, i'm looking at the california dmv website, and apparently you can't register a new car from another state in california, unless your car was stolen or totaled. so, i guess i have to buy one on my own when i get back. but, while i'm here i have to replace the brakes on my echo. and put the front lisence plate on. can you believe i was almost out of the state when i get pulled over by the chp and given a citation for not having my lisence plate on the front of my car? i say it's rediculous. but it's the law, so i'm going to drill some holes in the front of the echo at try to attach it. now that i've rambled on about that....
like i said, it's been good to have some time off, and to know that i still have some more time off. i don't have to go back until the 5th, so i've been sleeping in, playing guitar hero, and just plain playing around. and i have time to think about the past year, things that have happened, decisions i've made, and where to go from here. it's kind of a deep thing, but it's a good meditation time.
although, it's kinda cold here in farmpit. it was "supposed" to snow on christmas day, but did it? i think we all know how accurate weather forecasts are.
