the past little while has been pretty eventful. last weekend was a wonderful vacation with the fam in park city, utah. we went on the alpine slide, ate sno cones, sat in the hot tub and ate lots of pizza. it was great! then, on my way back home from the airport, i was in my first ever accident. i was pretty much freaked out. i was rearended on the 405 freeway just before the santa monica blvd exit. the guy hit me and pushed my car into the pickup in front of me. i got a bit of whiplash, but it's pretty much gone now. my poor car is a little less attractive than before. and it's been an absolute headache dealing with the other guy's insurance. if you think dealing with one insurance company is bad, try three. anyway, so who knows when everything will be worked out. on top of everything i had a flat tire that i had to use my lunch hour to get fixed today. work has been crazy busy too. so, yesterday before church i was in a bad mood, because of all the things i've mentioned above. i had to drive on my donut of a spare tire, and i was stressed over all the paperwork and junk for the accident. anyway, so i get to church and start playing the piano for prelude, not really paying attention to much. but the interesting thing is that as the meeting went on, and especially after the sacrament, it was like this feeling of ahhhhhhh just kind of settled over me. it felt so nice! it was great to not have to think about anything except spiritual renewal and my fingers touching the keys of the piano, the two things that relax me the most. so, i ended up going to work today in a pretty good mood with motivation to make those wonderful excel spreadsheets that are my responsibilty. anyway, out of all of this hoopla, i truly feel like i've grown. i've done all of this and taken care of everything completely on my own. it's my own car, my own insurance, my own accident, and my fight for the money to fix my car. i have learned a few other things too... such as collision is a good thing to have on your insurance policy. and never ever ever ever drive on the 405, especially at night. and toyota's are tough little cars. and i'm capable of handling whatever life throws at me. the end.
our pirate party, for the midnight showing of pirates 3...
